Details:
Step into the rich and meaningful world of symbolism in this engaging, thought-provoking class!
Students will learn the basics of how artists use symbols to communicate ideas, emotions, and stories beyond what is immediately visible. Through discussion and examples, we’ll explore how everyday objects, colors, and imagery can carry deeper meanings.
Then we’ll take the learning beyond the classroom with a visit to the galleries, where students will view works of art through a new lens—identifying symbols and interpreting their significance while continuing class discussion in an inspiring setting.
To bring it all together, students will create their own original artwork using symbolism, thoughtfully choosing images and elements that reflect personal ideas and experiences.
Registration is required.
Members: $16 | General Public: $20
