2026 N&WHS Annual Convention

The Norfolk & Western Historical Society invites you to the 2026 N&WHS Annual Convention in Roanoke, Virginia.
This year’s convention is being held at the famed Hotel Roanoke. Long an N&W property, it is known to Roanokers simply as 'The Hotel!'
This is your yearly opportunity to meet other like-minded attendees, reconnect with old friends, and participate in exciting convention activities!

Securing the Hotel Roanoke is truly special for us, as we had previously been told we simply were not a big enough group. With personal connections, we have negotiated a great rate for our group. Normally, the Hotel Roanoke is $299 a night plus tax; we have negotiated a rate of only $189 a night plus tax. Parking is available in the Hotel Roanoke lot. Rooms are limited, so please book early, long before June, to ensure the best rate and availability!
Nights available are: Thursday June 11, Friday June 12, and Saturday June 13 with Sunday June 14 checkout!

Thursday, June 11
Morning:
9:00 a.m. - Registration begins outside the conference
rooms and will be staffed through the
afternoon and early evening; however, there may be
a break or two for meals, so if no one is there, check
back later.
11:00 a.m. - The N&WHS Board Meeting will take
place at the Archives located at 2101 Salem Avenue, Roanoke.
Afternoon:
The afternoon is open for you to railfan
around Roanoke if arriving early.
