Details:
After discovering and excavating a fossil at the “dig site," junior paleontologists will use provided tools in the “fossil preparation lab” to free it from its surrounding matrix. They will document their discoveries’ characteristics in their field journals and use resources in the “research lab” to determine their specimen’s type, age, and other interesting facts. They will learn about the fossilization process, the difference between trace and body fossils, and the fascinating things that fossils can teach us.
