Maysles Documentary Center

343 Malcolm X Blvd, New York, NY 10027, USA

Maysles Documentary Center (MDC), a Harlem-based nonprofit founded by legendary filmmaker Albert Maysles in 2005, champions community, education, and documentary film. We amplify under-represented voices and empower young filmmakers to express themselves and advocate for their needs. MDC fosters creativity through low-cost programs, including film literacy for children and advanced filmmaking for adults. Our venue, Maysles Cinema, stands as Harlem's sole independent film house dedicated exclusively to documentary programming, facilitating access to vital narratives and conversations.
