Details:
Research engineer and author David F. Menicucci will speak on artificial intelligence and its applications, ranging from professional to personal. He will explain how AI evolved, how it works, what it does well, what it does poorly, and what it will never be able to do. David will demystify the technology and discuss where it can be applied most effectively in research, writing, analysis, artistic creation, and other applications. The session will combine lectures with hands-on exercises using AI platforms such as Claude and ChatGPT. He will also address security, including specific steps to protect your intellectual property when using AI. Attendees with an internet-connected device (phone, tablet, or laptop) can participate in the hands-on portion. If you've been curious or hesitant about AI, this talk is for you.
