Ranching to Improve Land Function, Stock Handling & Profit Capture
June 26–27, 2026 |
9:00 AM–4:00 PM MT
Brett Gray Ranch — Rush, CO
What does it look like when land health, livestock performance, and profitability all move in the right direction — even through drought?
Join us on the Brett Gray Ranch for a two‑day, hands‑on workshop with Louis Martin (Round River Resource Management) and Dawn Hnatow (Cattle Up Stockmanship). Together, they bring decades of experience in regenerative grazing, stockmanship, and principle‑based decision‑making.
You’ll learn how Louis transformed this state trust land operation by:
• Adding 12+ desirable grass species
• Improving ground cover from 70% bare to 70% covered
• Doubling stocking rates from 400 to 800 AU’s in two years
And you’ll work directly with Dawn to strengthen your stock handling through livestock behavior, position, timing, and low‑stress techniques that improve gains, efficiency, and animal calm.
Participants will leave with tools to:
• Improve stock handling and animal performance
• Strengthen grazing management & monitoring
• Support long‑term land health and resilience
• Make confident, principle‑based decisions — even in drought
This is a rare chance to learn on the land at Brett Gray Ranch, a 50,000‑acre operation demonstrating measurable ecological improvement through planned grazing, monitoring, and collaborative stewardship.
Fee: $300 for two days (lunch included).
Scholarships available.
