Want to learn more about Purple Martins? Then come join Luke Donahue at the B&O Trail Headquarters to learn a little about all the conservation work being done at the 1-acre site, and then sit back, relax, and watch the Purple Martins feeding their young!
Four years ago, the property was merely a mowed lawn with the B&O Trail running through it. It now hosts a maintenance garage, picnic pavilion, native pollinator prairie, coniferous trees, and bird boxes for Bluebirds, Tree Swallows, Purple Martins, and even Northern Rough-winged Swallows!
Meet at 205 South Mill Street in Lexington, at 6:00 pm, and watch the martins with us for 1 ½ - 2 hours. Restrooms will be available, and additional parking can be found across from the Lexington Community Church, just off South Mill Street. Hope to see you there! Have any questions?
