Friday, August 22 Bird Nerd Weekend
4-5pm Nature Center Open – Learn about the Osprey at the Welcome Center Nature Room.
6-8pm Traveling Program Golf Cart – Watch for the traveling program golf cart with weekend schedules.
8-9pm Origami Crane – Learn to fold an origami crane at the Welcome Center. Adult supervision is needed.
Saturday, August 23
9-10am Breakfast with the Birds – Enjoy donuts and more at the Welcome Center while watching the birds at our observation window! Suggested donation is $5 per person. While supplies last.
10am-12pm Nature Center Open & Bird Beaks – Explore the Nature Center and discover bird beak adaptations and what makes each one special.
12-1pm What’s That Bird? Birding 101 – Meet in the Welcome Center to learn about bird ID and bird feeding tips for beginners and people who want to learn more!
2-3pm Blue Bird Box Tour – Take stroll along our bluebird trail to learn about these songbirds and their boxes. Meet at the Welcome Center parking lot.
4-5:30pm Nest Box Workshop – Discover the wonderful world of Eastern bluebirds, then make a bluebird box to place in your yard. $15 per bluebird box kit, one kit per family. Registration required online at www.MWCD.org/tickets
7-9pm Osprey Kayak Tour – Take a guided tour of the Osprey nests around the lake and enjoy watching the sunset. Registration required at www.MWCD.org/tickets.
