The Poverty Escape Room encourages participants to experience barriers, stressors, and realities faced daily by people living in the crisis of poverty. Based on real experiences in the Rapid City community, our Poverty Escape Room offers you a vivid opportunity to become a more compassionate neighbor. This work is a collaboration with Black Hills Special Services Cooperative. Life as a low-income family is an abstract concept for some and a harsh reality for others. Through our outreach activities, we invite people from all sectors to better understand view our community through a different lens, one that considers the barriers our low-income families face and how we can all collaborate on solutions. Presented by the John T. Vucurevich foundation in collaboration with the Black Hills Special Services Cooperative.
