The Cape Crush + Mallcops tour rolls into Randolph with two of Vermont/New England's own joining the bill — headliners Shy Husky and indie power-pop trio Yours & Mine. Doors at 7, music at 7:30 sharp.
Shy Husky:
"A distillation of decades' worth of rock" — Seven Days
Simultaneously nostalgic and fresh, Shy Husky's music serves as an update to the 90's alt-rock they grew up on. Big, distorted guitars and pounding drums blend seamlessly with modern clean, pop-infused vocals to create a new style that lands at the intersection of emo, pop punk, and modern alt-rock. On their 2023 self-titled EP, produced by Matt Appleton (The Used, Atreyu, The Ataris), they find their sound, creating a solid debut that showcases their precise songwriting while maintaining the edge and energy they bring to their live shows. Based in the Upper Valley of Vermont and New Hampshire, Shy Husky is a staple of their local music scene and has roots growing throughout New England.
Mallcops:
Boston, MA-based Mallcops released their latest album Vacationland in November 2024 — their eighth release on Bandcamp. Sitting comfortably in the orbit of bands like Sincere Engineer and Citizen, their sound captures the experience of being a walking disaster of a person who's maybe — finally — learning to deal with it. Catch them at The Underground on this run through New England with Cape Crush.
Cape Crush:
Drawing influences from bands like The Get Up Kids and The Promise Ring and featuring members of Boston bands such as Choke Up, The Effort, TRAGWAG, Lessener, and Matahari, the north shore's Cape Crush consists of principal songwriter Ali Lipman on vocals, James Christopher on guitar, Jake Letizia on bass, and Cody Rico on drums. Beginning in January of 2022 when Lipman and Christopher started arranging Lipman's songs for a full band, soon the songwriters were joined by Rico and Letizia. Playing their first show in August of that year, the band soon released their six song EP San Souci.
Touting a power-emo sound that is anthemic, dynamic, and raw, Cape Crush's songs come to life after Lipman crafts the song structures on acoustic guitar. Guitarist Christopher then arranges each track, layering in electric guitar harmonies and rhythms. Finally, Letizia and Rico bring their own bass and drum parts to the table. Blending high octane choruses with introspective moments, Cape Crush proudly boasts a DIY aesthetic and bursts with rich harmony, layered instrumentation, and inwardly focused lyricism.

Place Memory, Cape Crush's debut album, is out now via Wanna Hear It Records.
Yours & Mine:
Lead songwriter Greg Baldwin's clever lyricism is filled equally with ache and the triumphant wisdom that can only be achieved through being burned, all while being backed by a lean and aggressive attack akin to early REM and late period The Replacements. Hook-filled melodies and ringing Peter Buck-influenced Rickenbacker beside the muscular rhythm section set Yours & Mine apart from the crowded power-pop resurgence in today's indie rock landscape and announce themselves as one of the premiere new voices of the genre.
