Class: Parenting Styles Through a Trauma-Informed Lens
Date & Time: Wednesday, August 12 *6:00-8:00pm
FKCE Trainer: Robert Waddington, M.S.W.
Class Description:
This class explores how children’s behavior can be understood as a response to trauma, attachment disruptions, and stress rather than as intentional misbehavior. Participants will examine common parenting styles, including their defining characteristics, strengths, and limitations, and their potential effects on children in foster care. Through videos, discussions, and interactive activities, caregivers will learn how to apply trauma-informed parenting approaches to guide behavioral interventions that promote safety, build trust, and support emotional regulation in children who have experienced trauma.
