Unearth A Story at Ida Rupp Public Library for Summer Reading 2026!
40,000-50,000 years ago, prehistoric peoples carved images and symbols into rock faces to communicate information about their environments as well as cultural and religious depictions. Archaeologists call these engravings, petroglyphs. In this program, you can learn how to communicate messages through symbols and carve out your own petroglyphs. Use prehistoric symbolism or learn how to create your own characters of communication.
Unearth a world of stories, and create your own, in this chill crafting session, DIY Petroglyphs! No Registration Required! All materials provided. Program intended only for teens grades 6-12
