ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Jonathan Scales Fourchestra
Jonathan Scales Fourchestra is an innovative power trio led by steel pannist and composer Jonathan Scales, featuring E'Lon JD on electric bass and Maison Guidry on drums. Blending elements of jazz, classical, progressive rock, Latin rhythms, and soulful funk, the group creates a sound that is dynamic, adventurous, and entirely their own.
Since forming in 2007, the Fourchestra has captivated audiences across North America and Europe with electrifying live performances known for their energy, musicianship, and improvisation. The group has also served as cultural ambassadors for the U.S. Department of State, touring internationally throughout Africa and Asia.
Jonathan Scales has become known for redefining the possibilities of the steel pan, pushing the instrument far beyond traditional expectations and drawing inspiration from artists and composers as varied as Béla Fleck, Igor Stravinsky, and Björk. Their collaborations with acclaimed musicians and appearances such as NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert have helped establish the group as one of the most inventive ensembles in contemporary instrumental music.
Whether you're a longtime jazz fan or simply curious to experience something truly unique, this is a performance you won’t want to miss.
