Visions of America: The Nation at 250

The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art is proud to present two significant exhibitions celebrating America's cultural heritage and the distinctive symbolism of the Midwest. "Visions of America: The Nation at 250," running from June 6 to September 13, 2026, coincides with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. This exhibition explores artists' diverse interpretations of America, reflecting on its complexities through a rich selection of works from the museum's permanent collection, supported by various foundations and contributors. Complementing this, "Barn Storm: Picturing a Midwestern Icon," from November 15, 2025, to November 1, 2026, focuses on the iconic barns of the Midwest, showcasing how artists uniquely portray this symbol of the region. Together, these exhibitions offer a nuanced look at America's artistic landscape and its regional identities.
