Natural Portsmouth: Nature Meets Art

Let the collision of nature and art inspire you at the Southern Ohio Museum! Take a tour of the artwork of Dorothy Gill Barnes, a pioneer in the fine-craft movement, and learn how she collaborated with nature to create wondrous works of art. Participants will have access to a touch-station with samples of materials that mimic those used by Barnes in her work, and will learn about the principles that guided her artistic processes. Interested participants can take home a "natural art challenge" to launch their own creative pursuits!
