Soul Shop Faith-Based Suicide Prevention Training for Trainers

Acts 16:27-28
When the jailer woke up and saw the prison doors wide open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, since he supposed that the prisoners had escaped. But Paul shouted in a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.”
When we read the story of the earthquake that miraculously releases Paul and Silas from jail, we probably miss or skip over the verses about the jailer about to complete suicide because of his fear that the prisoners had escaped.
But they hadn’t. They stayed with him. And it saved his life.
“Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.”
This is what the Soul Shop train-the-trainer event is all about:
You learn how and to teach others how to stay present with those overwhelmed by suicidal desperation and fear.
After completing this event, you will be able to lead the Soul Shop model of faith-based suicide prevention training for members of your faith community and the community around your congregation.
You don’t have to be a pastor or a therapist - simply a person with a heart for people, mental health, and well-being.

Thanks to a special grant from the state of Ohio, this $3000 training is being offered for free in Portsmouth, OH. This free training is only for congregations in Ohio, and this particular event is being offered specifically in southern Ohio since we usually have to travel a long distance and stay overnight for a training like this. Now you can stay close to home and learn to save lives!
