The New Hampshire SPCA (NHSPCA) is dedicated to saving the lives of companion animals through rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption. Their mission also includes promoting learning, eliminating animal cruelty, and advancing animal welfare standards. As New Hampshire's oldest and largest animal shelter, they serve over 121 communities across New Hampshire, southern Maine, and northern Massachusetts. The NHSPCA operates as an open admission, unlimited stay facility, accepting nearly 2,500 animals annually, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and farm animals. They provide comprehensive care, including medical services, training, and a safe environment, until each animal finds a forever home. Beyond sheltering and adoption, the NHSPCA offers humane education programs for all ages, behavior and training classes, cruelty investigations, and low-cost spay/neuter clinics. They are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that relies on private donations and community support, as they receive no federal or state funding. The NHSPCA is committed to strengthening the human-animal bond through advocacy, education, and compassionate care.
