Details:
Join us for a unique double event at the University of Southern Maine that showcases community engagement and dialogue. First, "Everything Old is New Again" features a panel discussion celebrating the revival of Maine's first queer publication, led by panelists Steven Bull, Peter Prizer, and Vachon. This free and public event, with refreshments provided, highlights the significance of this historic newsletter in Maine's LGBTQ+ community.
Following that, from 5:30–7:30 PM, attend the "Even As We Grieve Community Event" at the Crewe Center for the Arts. This event combines art, performance, and recovery advocacy, featuring the "Even As We Grieve" exhibition with live music, resource tables, and light refreshments. A performance by the Portland Recovery Community Center will address themes of recovery, grief, and community. The evening will culminate in a facilitated discussion led by Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialists.
Both events are free and open to the public, with parking available at the USM Garage for $4.15/hour. For those using public transport, the Portland METRO bus offers convenient access. Come engage with the community and celebrate art, history, and recovery!
