Each spring Piping Plovers and Least Terns migrate to Maine’s shores to nest and raise their young. Join Maine Audubon at the Main Library on Wednesday, June 24th at 6:30pm to learn more about these birds, their habitats, behaviors, and conservation efforts to protect them for future generations. The presentation will feature time at the end for Q&A and materials to take home afterwards to learn more about endangered and migratory shorebirds.
Presenter: Kevin Mullan - Outreach Coordinator for the Coastal Birds Project at Maine Audubon
Kevin has worked as a park ranger, spending time monitoring and protecting Piping Plover and Least Tern habitats on the beaches in southern Maine. He now works on the Coastal Birds Project to protect endangered Piping Plovers and Least Terns and educate the public on these rare birds.
