The United Way of MSJC has three lines of service; 1. Seven Initiatives that provide services to the community and address community needs focusing on early literacy, workforce readiness, poverty/homelessness, and volunteerism 2. Community Investment Grants support more than 20 organizations and 35 programs with funds to address the needs of the community. Grantees go through and extensive review process annually by a volunteer committee. The Committee reviews the overall health, stability, governance and need for each program seeking assistance. The application review includes an in-depth study of each applicants mission, financials, outcome measurements, purpose, a site visit, and interview. 3. Engagement & collaboration of the community to support those in need is our third line of service. Encouraging every member of the community to get involved and invest in our community through advocacy, volunteering, and/or donating. Through our engagement & collaboration we work together, hand in hand, with the community to create HOPE and build a better tomorrow.
