The Duxbury Free Library, established in spring 1890, began as a charming house filled with art, gifted by George and Georgianna Wright. Originally governed by a seven-person board from the Henry Winsor bequest, it became the Duxbury Free Library, Inc. to accept a $3000 donation from the Unitarian Ladies' Aid Society. After evolving through three buildings, including a neoclassic structure and an expansive renovation in 1997, the library continues to thrive, adapting to community needs and promoting knowledge for over 130 years.
