Speaker Series: Exploring Plattsburgh's Point

Examining the city's East End, this presentation traces the development of the area's historic architecture: the various styles of buildings, their contributions to the extended historic district, and the status of their preservation.

Emeritus Professor of History at SUNY Plattsburgh, Dr. James M. Lindgren is an internationally recognized scholar of the historic preservation and museum movements in the United States. He is the author of Preserving Maritime America (University of Massachusetts Press, 2019) and over sixty other publications. He taught courses on historic preservation, history museums, and historic sites for thirty-seven years at Plattsburgh State, where he received the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Scholarship. He earned his PhD in History, Phi Beta Kappa, from the College of William and Mary.
