Details:
Rock Steady Boxing is a fitness curriculum designed for people with Parkinson’s disease, featuring exercises adapted from boxing drills. There is evidence that intensive activities, such as those performed in this class, may slow disease progression and the loss of functional abilities. Rehab Services’ physical and occupational therapists and assistants teach Rock Steady Boxing exercise classes. You do not need boxing experience, and men and women of all ages and stages of Parkinson’s can participate. Classes are from 1:15-2:15 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at the Columbus Wellness Center. The cost for the classes is $15 per month for YMCA members, and $40 per month for non-YMCA members. All participants receive a boxing starter kit (gloves, wrist guards and carrying bag) during their first session. To learn more or sign up for a Rock Steady Boxing class, contact Rehab Services at the Wellness Center at 402-562-3333.
