Join us for "Water & Wildlife: Stream Explorers" and discover the vibrant life within our local waterways! This family-friendly event invites you to use nets and observation tools to uncover aquatic insects, small fish, salamanders, and other stream-dwelling creatures. Guided by a naturalist, you'll learn how these findings connect to the broader stream ecosystem and surrounding landscape. Enhance your curiosity and confidence outdoors while understanding the vital role clean water plays for both wildlife and people. We'll meet in front of the red barn at Pleasant Valley, facing the wide gravel path. Please dress for the weather and wear secure shoes that can get wet, as flip-flops and Crocs are discouraged. Be prepared for a one-mile trek along an unsurfaced trail with exposed roots and rocks, uneven terrain, and potentially slippery conditions due to recent weather. Expect to step into ankle-deep moving water during our stream sampling adventure!
