Adult Chess Club

Join us for two exciting monthly events at the Downey City Library!

First, the Adult Chess Club meets every other Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM, led by local chess enthusiast Salman Mogaddedi and a dedicated team of volunteers. This club welcomes players of all skill levels to sharpen their skills, master new strategies, and engage in friendly competition with fellow chess lovers.

Then, every fourth Saturday of the month, immerse yourself in the So Cal Game Connection: Game Day from 10 AM to 4 PM. Hosted by Mark Shocklee, this gathering invites gamers of all experience levels. Participants can bring their favorite games or explore a selection of popular board and card games, including Ticket to Ride and Splendor. There’s no fee to join, making it a fantastic opportunity to connect with the gaming community.

Both events are for ages 18 and up and take place at the Library's Patio or Lounge. Come challenge yourself, have fun, and meet new friends!
