In late 2001, the New England Collegiate Baseball League proposed a team in Sanford, Maine, leading to Goodall Park being selected as the home field. Over time, ownership transitioned to a dedicated volunteer group from Sanford-Springvale, establishing a foundation for the Mainers' success.
