For 2025, Florida is offering a back-to-school sales tax holiday that runs for the entire month of August. This exemption period is now a permanent annual event, according to the Florida Department of Revenue. During August 1st to August 31st, 2025, specific back-to-school items are exempt from sales tax. Eligible items include clothing, footwear, and accessories priced at 100 or less per item; school supplies at 50 or less per item; and learning aids and jigsaw puzzles at 30 or less per item. Personal computers and certain related accessories are also exempt if priced at 1,500 or less and for non-commercial use. Items exceeding the price limits, commercial computer purchases, rentals, repairs, and items sold in theme parks, entertainment complexes, lodging establishments, or airports are not eligible for the tax exemption.
