Details:
Learn how to warp a rigid heddle loom in this 2-part workshop which will cover how to select materials for a warp, calculate yarn needs for a project, and how to dress (warp) a loom with the direct warping method.
Participants will have the choice of either a white or navy blue warp (or a combination of the two!) and will warp a loom from start to finish and then create a weaving approximately 6.5“ wide and up to 25" long. During the first day of class, participants will work in pairs to beam the warp on and then complete the rest of the process on their own. The second day participants will weave a project of their own design.
Project photo shows a white and navy blue warp woven with recycled fabric yarn. There will be a variety of both wool yarn and recycled fabric yarn on hand for you to experiment with during class.
Prerequisite: To register, participants must have successfully completed 577’s Learn to Weave class.
