Handgun 101 - Learn to Shoot

Join us on July 18, 2026, from 8 AM to 12 PM for two essential courses: Handgun 101 and a Boater Education Class & Exam, both taking place at convenient locations in Nashville, TN.

**Handgun 101** at the Stones River Hunter Education Center (2618 Hobson Pike, Nashville, TN) is designed for beginners to learn the fundamentals of safe and effective handgun use. This course covers essential safety principles, proper firearm handling, and core shooting fundamentals like grip, stance, and trigger control. Hands-on practice with experienced instructors will help build confidence and competence. All necessary ammo and pistols will be provided, or you may bring your own firearm with matching ammo. The cost is $10.50, payable in cash on-site or through a Range 2 permit.

**Boater Education Class & Exam** will be held at the TWRA Region II Office (5105 Edmondson Pike, Nashville, TN). This in-person boating safety class will conclude with an official Tennessee boating exam. Participants must be at least 12 years old and are required to bring a pencil. A type 600 boating permit is needed, which costs $10.00 and is available where hunting and fishing licenses are sold.
