Details:
Join us for a delightful day of exploration and community at two beautiful nature preserves: Green Mountain Nature Preserve and Rainbow Mountain Nature Preserve.
At the Green Mountain Nature Preserve, we invite seniors (aged 60 and older) and those young at heart to take a leisurely stroll along the scenic Alum Hollow Trailhead. Enjoy nature at your own pace, whether you prefer hiking to the picturesque Alum Falls, engaging in birdwatching, journaling, or simply soaking in the tranquil surroundings. The preserve features stunning waterfalls, historic sites, and diverse flora, making it a perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Remember to wear sturdy shoes and bring water, a camera, and any personal items like a picnic or journal! Senior Saunter is a member-exclusive event, but first-time guests are welcome to join.
Following this, join us for a 1.5- to 2-hour intermediate hike at Rainbow Mountain Nature Preserve. Experience the captivating views along the Rainbow Loop Trail, with a brief detour to Balance Rock Trail. After the hike, roll up your sleeves and participate in a Trail Care event at Cane Creek Canyon, where you'll aid Land Stewards in maintaining the trail system. No prior experience is required, but we recommend wearing sturdy shoes and bringing water, snacks, and gloves.
Both events require registration, and you'll receive email notifications in case of cancellations due to weather or trail conditions. Don’t miss this chance to connect with nature and your community!
