OWENSBORO NEIGHBORHOOD CLEANUPS RETURN IN 2026 The Owensboro Neighborhood Alliances will once again host their annual Neighborhood Cleanups in 2026, providing residents with a free and convenient way to dispose of bulky household items. The program, hosted by the Owensboro Neighborhood Alliance Program in partnership with the Owensboro Sanitation Department, is designed to help neighborhoods keep their areas clean while giving residents an easy solution for removing large items that are not typically collected during regular trash service. Neighborhood Cleanups allow residents to place approved bulk items at the curb on their scheduled cleanup date, where city sanitation crews will collect them at no cost. "We're proud to see the Neighborhood Alliances partner with the Sanitation Department to provide a service that truly benefits our community," says City Manager Nate Pagan, "We encourage residents to take advantage of this opportunity to clear out unwanted items." Items Accepted During Neighborhood Cleanups Include: Junk furniture Appliances Tires Small trash items (must be bagged or boxed) Items Not Accepted Include: Construction debris or materials Yard waste Dirt Paint Any type of liquid Residents should place items at the curb (not in the street) on Friday night prior to their scheduled cleanup date. Sanitation crews will be in neighborhoods between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on cleanup day. Crews are unable to return for items not placed out on time. Residents can determine which neighborhood they live in and view their scheduled cleanup date by entering their address into the city's Information Map which can be found at Owensboro.org/cleanup. Calling CityAction to schedule a pickup is no longer required. Residents simply need to place eligible items at the curb on the designated date for their neighborhood.
