The Knight-Sutton Museum, established in 1997, is a dedicated space for the extensive artifact collection of the Newstead Historical Society. It serves as a museum and research center for Akron/Newstead NY history, featuring a permanent display titled "Moments in Time" that showcases early Akron businesses, industry, schools, and local Indigenous life. The museum also hosts an annual themed exhibit and provides a research library with primary resources. It is a volunteer-based organization focused on preserving and interpreting the town's social and cultural history through education and programming.
