East Bay Square Dance with caller Nina Berry, guest fiddler Sophie Wellington

Join us for an exciting East Bay Square Dance featuring caller Nina Berry and live music from guest fiddler Sophie Wellington and friends! This inclusive event welcomes all, with no prior experience or partner required. Families are encouraged to attend, with beginner lessons starting at 7:45 PM, right before the main dancing begins at 8:00 PM.

The dance is queer-friendly and promotes role-switching, using playful terms like "owls" and "birdies" for the two dance roles. Remember to wear comfortable dance shoes—no stiletto heels allowed! Guests can bring beer and wine (no hard alcohol) and should also bring their water bottles.

Admission prices are $20 for general entry, $15 for Hillside Club or BACDS members, $25 for supporters, $6 for students or low-income attendees, or pay what you can. Tickets can be purchased at the door using cash or Venmo, and Eventbrite tickets are available online.

Before the dance, musicians are invited to join a free old-time jam from 6:30 to 8:00 PM in the small room near the front door, so please contribute if you participate in the square dancing afterward. This event is organized by the Bay Area Country Dance Society (BACDS) and takes place monthly, typically on the third Friday.
