Our friends at PSARA - Puget Sound Advocates for Retirement Action - are asking us here in Clallam County to join a nationwide action Wednesday June 10. Please come, and help spread the word!
What: Stand with our Social Security Workers! A one-hour sign-wave in front of the Port Angeles Social Security Office.
Where: Federal Building (Social Security regional office) in Port Angeles, 138 West First St, 1/2 block from the Clallam County Democrats' (CCD) office
When: Wednesday, June 10, 5pm - 6pm (right before the 6pm monthly CCD membership meeting)
For: Social Security Worker Visibility Day
WHY:
- Our Social Security offices are critically understaffed, and their workers are under extreme stress.
- Office hours have been greatly reduced.
- Nationally 10,000 employees have been lost.
- Cuts have caused a record number of claim backlogs.
