Details:
Join us for a community-focused Work Party at McKinley Park and Dickman Mill, taking place on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 9 am to 12 pm. At McKinley Park, assist Habitat Steward Danny in maintaining the park’s habitat by clearing invasive weeds. Afterward, enjoy a scenic stroll through the trails to discover the beautiful waterfall and reflection pond. All ages and abilities are welcome, with no experience necessary, as tools and training will be provided. Please bring gloves (required), a water bottle, and a snack, and dress for the weather. Note that restrooms are not available.
Simultaneously, contribute to the restoration of the Dickman Mill area as part of a collaborative effort with the Grit City Litter Cleanup. This initiative focuses on enhancing our local environment through hands-on activities that foster teamwork and community spirit.
Meeting point for both events is near the park entrance on Upper Park St, with street parking available on East I St. If you are under 18 and attending without a parent or guardian, please bring a signed Youth Participant Waiver. For more information, contact Community and Special Projects Coordinator, Kevin Johnson, at kevin.johnson@tacomaparks.com. Join us to make a positive impact together!
