**Sunrise Beach Park Low Tide Tour**
Join Harbor WildWatch for an engaging and educational Low Tide Tour at Sunrise Beach Park, located at 10015 Sunrise Beach Dr NW, Gig Harbor, WA. This program invites participants of all ages to explore the stunning shorelines of the Salish Sea alongside knowledgeable biologists and volunteer naturalists. Experience a hands-on adventure in the intertidal zone, where you will discover an incredible diversity of marine life, including sea stars, crabs, and sea anemones.
Participants will learn essential beach etiquette, unique adaptations of marine creatures, and the environmental challenges facing our oceans, along with tips for contributing to their protection. The tour lasts approximately 60-90 minutes, allowing flexibility to leave at any time, and is offered free of charge, although a suggested donation of $2 per person or $5 per family is appreciated.
Please come prepared for outdoor conditions, wearing closed-toe shoes—rain boots, water shoes, or old sneakers are recommended—and remember to bring water, sunscreen, and snacks if needed. The meeting point is on the lawn near the parking area; look for Harbor WildWatch staff in blue. The beach features a steep grassy hill leading to varied terrain of gravel, cobble, sand, and occasional boulders. Portable bathrooms are available, but no drinking water.
Make a connection with nature and gain a deeper appreciation for local marine ecosystems by joining us at Sunrise Beach Park! This program is offered in partnership with PenMet Parks. For more information, visit penmetparks.org/.
