The Johnson County Park and Recreation District (JCPRD) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents through exceptional parks, diverse programs, and a commitment to innovation and professionalism. Established in 1953, JCPRD manages over 10,000 acres of parkland, including 18 developed parks and 150 miles of trails. The district offers more than 4,200 fee-supported programs annually, encompassing recreational, cultural, environmental, and outdoor education activities, attracting over 2.7 million participants each year. JCPRD operates a variety of facilities such as the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center, Johnson County Museum, nature centers, sports complexes, and golf courses. It is also the largest childcare provider in Kansas, serving over 4,000 children daily.
