Details:
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host the Brewed and Branded Series on July 10, 17 and 24 in Houston. The cost of the series is $50 per person or $100 per couple and registration is available online. The three topics that will be covered are barbecue (July 10) , leather working (July 17) and coffee (July 24) . The three are not just random cultural elements, they overlap in meaningful ways. Work and craft: Coffee fuels labor, leather working embodies craftsmanship, barbecue requires patience and technique. Community: Coffee shops, leather markets and barbecue markets and barbecue restaurants all serve as gathering spaces. Tradition plus evolution: Each has deep roots but continues to evolve with new generations. Put simply, coffee keeps Texans moving, leather working reflects where they came from and barbecue shows how they come together.
