2026 Disaster Summit

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host a disaster preparedness class on July 11 in Cypress. The class is free and lunch is included. Online registration is required and the deadline to register is July 8. The class will address critical aspects of emergency preparedness through multiple educational sessions. Topics include: Home prep: Get your home ready for flood and wind events. Food prep: Learn how to keep your food safe during power outages. Landscape prep: Learn how to prepare your yard for freezes, wind and flooding. Insurance 101: Learn what type of coverage is needed to protect your home. Generator use: Learn how to choose and safely use generators. Cooking without power: Get ready to cook without electricity.
