The Conejo Recreation and Park District (CRPD) is a special district established in 1962 to manage parks, open spaces, and recreational programs for the Conejo Valley in California. Its mission is to enrich the quality of life for the community by preserving and enhancing recreational opportunities, parks, and open space. CRPD serves approximately 140,000 residents, maintaining over 50 parks and recreation facilities, and in cooperation with the City of Thousand Oaks, manages over 15,000 acres of open space and 140 miles of trails through the Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency (COSCA). The district offers thousands of classes annually and hosts numerous community events, providing diverse, accessible leisure, social, educational, and recreational activities for all ages. CRPD operates with a significant number of employees and relies heavily on volunteers, with its funding primarily derived from property taxes.
