The City of Westlake Village is a municipality located in western Los Angeles County, California, incorporated in 1981. It is known for its picturesque setting in the northern foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, nine miles inland from the Pacific Ocean. The city occupies 5.4 square miles and straddles the border between Los Angeles and Ventura counties, with approximately two-thirds of the original master-planned community located within the city of Thousand Oaks in Ventura County.
