Details:
Join us for a series of engaging early literacy programs designed for families with children aged 0-5.
**Preschool Story Time** invites you to celebrate early literacy through stories, songs, and a fun craft activity, nurturing pre-reading skills while enjoying quality time with your child. All children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver, and advance requests for auxiliary aids are encouraged.
**In-Person Parent Café: Changing the Tune** offers a unique opportunity for caregivers and their young keiki to explore music and have meaningful conversations about mental health. This musical café emphasizes the importance of open dialogue within families, helping to shift perspectives on feelings and support. Space is limited, so RSVP is required.
Additionally, participate in the **1,000 Books Before Kindergarten!** challenge, encouraging parents to read to their children with the goal of reaching 1,000 books before starting kindergarten. This fun initiative fosters strong early literacy skills and bonding between parent and child, with resources available at the Children’s Reference Desk.
All programs are subject to change, and anyone needing assistance or modifications should contact library staff as soon as possible. Check the HSPLS Events Calendar for updates and additional events.
