Categories: Better ConversationsMuseum EventsSummer Programming Cameron Hickey Civic Season is a tradition that unites our oldest federal holiday, Independence Day, and our newest, Juneteenth. It’s goal? To mobilize a movement to understand our past and shape our future. In 2026, we will commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary and reflect on where we fit into that story. For this special edition of Better Conversations, we are asking you to get involved. We will be joined by Cameron Hickey, CEO of the National Conference on Citizenship, created by Congress in 1946 to measure the civic health of our country. We are partnering with NCoC to make sure Oklahoma’s voice is included in the American Conversation Project, which will document the sentiment and hope of Americans at this milestone moment. You will take part in a small table-top conversation that will be recorded, with anonymity, and included alongside conversations happening across the nation. We hope you will be a part of this exciting project that teaches conversation as civic action, and civic engagement as the essential alternative to political violence, placing the lessons of 1995 as central to our national future. Participation is FREE and lunch is on us. Register to reserve your seat and a complimentary boxed lunch.
