Mayor Dominick Pangallo will join the North Shore Concert Band to narrate, reading President Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address.
Dominick Pangallo is the 52nd Mayor of Salem. He grew up in Salem, but because his father worked in Marblehead public schools he is a graduate of Marbleehad High School. He then attended Bates College, where he met his wife Kristin. Mayor Pangallo's mother was a librarian and his father was a teacher; unsurprisgly, he is a dedicated advocate for education.
Cynthia Napierkowski will be conducting the concert. She is a visiting lecturer at Salem State University and was a music educator and band leader in Salem Public Schools for 38 years. Her husband and son both play trumpet in the band, and she plays saxophone when not conducting. Cynthia joined the band's board of directors in 2025.
The North Shore Concert Band brings together active members of the Boston Musicians Association Local 9-535. They primarily play free concerts at Salem Willows and fund these events with a combination of grants, sponsorships, and donations.
