GROW became a non-profit organization in 2019.
Lane McCartney and Jennifer Vincent came up with the idea of a non-profit group and began the process early in 2019. The idea came to them after the group of running friends had formed a small group that met each week to run together and stay motivated through monthly challenges. The group had been donating their challenge money to local school cross country teams in the area.
With the idea of being a non-profit organization, they realized they could do more for the community!
September 2019, GROW- Guernsey County Runners and Walkers Club become a non-profit organization (501c3) through Road Runners Club of America.
To date, GROW has donated to The Great Guernsey Trail, Local high school cross country teams, Pathways Teen Fellowship Center, hosted a kids Fun Run for youth ages 3-11 as well as partnering with other organizations to start the program, Warm a Seniors Heart.
Each winter they hold their annual Winter Race Series, with proceeds to benefit the Haven of Hope.
