The Truckee Chamber of Commerce and Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe Political Action Committee (CATT PAC) are excited to announce the second How to Run for Office Workshop on Monday, June 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Truckee Town Hall. In an era when civic engagement is paramount to the success of our communities, aspiring leaders are invited to participate in this workshop designed to prepare them to run for public office.
With the guidance of a seasoned campaign marketing consultant, financial expert, and a distinguished panel of past and present elected officials, participants will gain invaluable knowledge on every aspect of mounting an effective political campaign.
The workshop will feature interactive sessions covering:
How to Get Started: Hear from Kelly Carpenter, Town of Truckee Clerk, and Armando Salud-Ambriz, Nevada County’s Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters, on the practical first steps to becoming an elected official.
Campaign Marketing: The group will be joined by Chris Collier, Founder & President of Rincon Strategies, to learn about Campaign Marketing Strategies. Chris is a veteran of California politics, with over 20 years of experience. Since founding Rincon Strategies in 2008, Chris and his team have played a key role in elections, legislative initiatives, and project approvals across nearly every major media market in California.
Financing Strategies: David Diamond of AirDiamond Creative Consulting will walk participants through the complexities of campaign finance and reporting, which is the most complicated aspects of running for office.
Panel Discussions: The afternoon will conclude with firsthand insights from some of our local experienced politicians. Hear their personal stories, learn from their triumphs and challenges, and glean practical advice for your own campaign journey.
Whether you're a seasoned community advocate or someone considering a leap into public service for the first time, the How-to-Run-for-Office Workshop offers a welcoming and inclusive space for all aspiring leaders. Space is limited.
Breakfast and lunch are included
