Class Description:
Students ages 5 to 12 learn about the elements of art and principles of design through a monthly art curriculum taught by licensed art educator and HCAA Juried Artist member Heather Ray Boelke. This course provides engaging hands-on lessons, including concepts of art history and art theory with creative and fine-motor development.
This school year, students explore the unique qualities of different art mediums. They will study 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art forms, along with studio practices that encourage artistic development.
September 4: Observational Drawing–Still Life Study
October 2: Portrait Study–Developing Proportion
November 6: Color Mixing Exploration
December 4: Watercolor Resists
February 5: Sculpted with Love–Clay Methods
March 5: Cardboard Creations--Recycled Sculpture
April 2: Mixed Media Studies
May 7: Plein Aire Painting on Canvas

All materials will be provided by the instructor.
$20 per student per session
