Details:
This summer, Prospect Park is hosting a series of exciting events for the community. From June 29 to September 4, the NYC Department of Education, in partnership with Prospect Park Alliance, will provide free meals for youth ages 18 and under at the Parkside and Ocean Avenue entrance. Meals will be available from 10 am to 4 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 3 pm on weekends, with no service on July 3 and 4.
In addition, parents and caregivers are invited to join a leisurely Prospect Park Stroller Walk, led by a naturalist. This stroll along the park’s waterways begins promptly at 10 am from the Prospect Park Boathouse; participants should RSVP to secure their spot.
Furthermore, individuals looking to give back can join the Summer Spruce Up volunteer series, where volunteers assist with tasks such as invasive plant removal and trail maintenance. Meetings will occur at various locations each week, and those interested must RSVP to receive details. This opportunity is suitable for teens aged 14-17 and adults, but it requires physical activity and the use of tools.
Come enjoy summer in Prospect Park with free meals, engaging walks, and meaningful volunteer opportunities!
