Details:
Join us for an exciting celebration of America’s history with the America 250 Celebration at Adena Mansion & Gardens, hosted by the Nathaniel Massie Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Ross County Visitors Bureau. Experience the vibrant sights and sounds of the 18th century through engaging artillery demonstrations, musket and rifle drills, and period military music, featuring contributions from various historical organizations, including The Brigade of the American Revolution and The Ohio History Connection. Explore hands-on exhibits, children’s games, cooking demonstrations, and learn about the vital role of women in early America, with special appearances from historic figures like George Washington and Ben Franklin. Additionally, participate in a flag retirement ceremony and enjoy beer-making activities.
Further enhancing the celebration, the Mystic Giants Tree Tour will take place at Spiegel Grove, where you can discover the majestic trees and their history. Departing from the museum at 10 a.m., this hour-long tour covers both giant trees and those named in honor of notable individuals by President Rutherford B. Hayes and his descendants. Admission fees apply, but Hayes Presidential members enjoy free access. This tour is a delightful way to connect with nature while celebrating the legacy of America’s past. Tickets are available at rbhayes.org/ and at the museum front desk, making this a not-to-be-missed event in the year-long America 250 celebration.
