Details:
This is a primer course on using the 3D Modeling software Tinker Cad. The class will go into the basic controls, designing parts, and then exporting them to be produced with a 3D Printer. We will do this together by walking you through a simple project to create a key tag with your name on it and then produce it for you (free of charge) on our 3D Printers in the EBR Maker Space. Tinker Cad is a freeware, browser-based 3D modeling software, which means that it is free of charge to use can be used for 3D Modeling without a powerful computer. While the program overall is somewhat limited in the kinds of things you can make with it, it is great for many 3D Printing cases and is much simpler to learn compared to other 3D Modeling programs. If you are interested in learning about 3D Modeling and 3D Printing, this is a great hands-on course that will allow you to test the waters and see if it interests you.***Children under the age of 13 will need their guardian to help them setup their account before the class as due to Tinker Cad's restrictions, children's accounts take at least 2 days to verify.***Families and groups, please ensure that all attending members who wish to complete the project are individually registered. Youth ages 11 and under must have a parent/guardian over the age of 18 present with them (Though you don't need to register if you don't wish to do the project) and must remain with them for the duration of the class. Attendees must have an active library card and email address that accessable on the Learning Center computers in order create a Tinker Cad account. If you do not have an email address, please arrive 15 minutes early to sign up for a free email account. If you do not have a library card, please sign up for one at the front Circulation desk before the class.(EBR Makerspace Program) Attendee MUST Give 24 HOUR Cancellation Notice to Allow Others on the Waiting List to Attend.
